This classical soprano duo have been performing
together since the late 80's.
This baroque soprano duo made their debut at Tewkesbury
Abbey in 1988. Their exquisite harmonies and lively interpretation have
won them wide acclaim. Since then Evelyne Beech and Jane Field have become
one of Britain’s leading baroque duos.
This unique soprano duo came together while singing
with Operas in Cameo under the musical directorship of Margaret Bennett.
Such was their success that Duo Dolcetini was formed to explore the unusual
and exciting repertoire for two pure, classical soprano voices, from Baroque
through to 20th Century.
Their extensive concert repertoire includes pieces
by Monteverdi, Carissimi, and Handel; baroque duets by Purcell, Vivaldi,
JC Bach, Mozart, and Cherubini; romantic songs by Weber, Dvôràk,
Saint-Saëns and Fauré, and 20th Century works by Britten and
Howells. Also Mozart, Cherubini, Weber, Dvôràk, Saint-Saëns,
Fauré, Britten, Howells, Monteverdi, Carissimi, Handel, Purcell,
Vivaldi, Bach.
They also perform regularly as soloists for oratorio
and recitals. Jane Field specialises in Lieder and Evelyne Beech (with
her second language) in French Chanson, while both voices are well suited
to works by modern composers.
Duo Dolcetini is available for recitals, orchestral
concerts, weddings, illustrated work to schools and special functions.
